SENbuddies was the idea of a couple of parents whose children attend a Special School in Biggleswade. We wanted to set up a support group for families and carers that existed outside of school parameters.
As parents of children with special needs we know how important it is to talk freely with other parents and share our experiences with each other. It can be very lonely being a parent of a child with additional needs and it’s easy to be left feeling helpless and isolated and having no-one to talk to.
Our meet-ups are regular get togethers where we can put the world to rights. We hope to move the meetings around the county to include as many families as possible. These meetings are not run by the school, it's run by parents for parents and carers.
